Competition proposal for the rehabilitation of a traditional Galician farmhouse and its conversion into a public municipal facility.

The project is rooted in respect for the vernacular architecture of the area. The defining elements of the granite construction are retained and celebrated: the exterior corridor, a generous covered balcony running the full width of the building, the patín, the traditional stone entrance staircase, and the traditional red tile roof. The interior is transformed into an open, flexible space capable of accommodating a range of uses and activities while preserving its character.

On the exterior, a new lightweight pavilion is proposed for outdoor activities, connected to the rehabilitated building through a pergola whose position between the two volumes structures and articulates the intermediate space and allows interior and exterior uses to complement each other.
