PE House Two-storey side extension and single-storey rear extension in South Croydon, London
This project involved a two-storey side extension and a single-storey rear extension to an existing residential property in South Croydon, delivering approximately 65m² of additional floor area.
The planning process was central to the project's success. A new planning application was submitted to replace a previously approved consent, resulting in an additional 5m² of built area through a carefully considered roof strategy. The revised scheme was approved without objection.
The design prioritised seamless integration with the existing house. Reclaimed roof tiles were used throughout the extension, matching the original roof and ensuring the new addition reads as part of the existing building rather than an afterthought. The same approach informed the front dormers, which sit naturally within the roofline.
The scope of work covered the full design process — from planning application and technical drawings through to construction detailing, interior layout, bathroom design, bespoke joinery and material selection. Juan was present on site throughout the construction process, coordinating directly with the contractor to ensure the design intent was delivered.
